Whilst an unstable middle east is hardly anything new, the tension surrounding Iran's supposed nuclear missle ambitions is really heating up at the moment. Its inconceivable that a strike from Israel wouldn't had severe upward pressure on the price of oil, particularly as there are threats from Iran to block the Straits of Hormuz.

This puts the U.S in a predicament. Do they follow through with the War on Terror at the expense of their economy or alternatively leave tensions to simmer with an increasingly unhappy Israel. It looks like there could still be profit to be made from oil futures yet.

I doubt it very much-most ordinary folks have no access to the Oil Futures market.World Oil is just running out pure and simple.Where is all the promised oil as a result of the Iraq invasion?Saudi is lying about its reserves. They havent been independently verified since 1973.Saudi is pumping milllions of gallons of sea water every day in a last ditch effort to extract the last dregs from the bottom of its pressurised deep wells.(As the oil gets deeper to pump up it gets weaker and weaker until its no longer possible).Gordon brown flew to Saudi no doubt with a tainted brief on the true picture prepared by ill informed British Civil Servants under the impression that he could do something.Soon as he returns Oil spikes $10 higher.Useless.World Oil cannot be controlled its a life or death battle between 96 different Nations manipulated by multi Billionaire speculators,Dictators and Dicatatorships.None of them give a stuff about human or middle class shortages suffering or inconvenience. Its survival of the fittest.
