MPs seem like an increasingly attractive target.
MP's BTL Scheme
The Commons authorities faced fresh calls for reform in MPs' expenses
yesterday after a Mail on Sunday investigation showed how some use the
system to build up valuable property portfolios.
A loophole in the rules means they can benefit from what one
privately described as an "MPs' buy-to-let scheme funded by the
taxpayer".

The only target for your entire protest effort should be to DEMAND that tax relief on BTL mortgages is removed as this gives an unfair advantage to BTLs over FTBs.
BTLs get tax relief on mortgage interest as they put it down as a business expense.
How the HELL can FTBs compete with that.
You call yourself a campaigning organisation - so DO SOMETHING about it.
For God's sake get your act together and actually help FTBs by getting this tax perk for property speculators made morally indefensible - like wearing fur coats.
Concentrate all your efforts on this one easily identifiable target.
This will help FTBs more than anything else you can do, as it makes most BTLs uneconomic.
I have mentioned this
outrage many times without any effective response from you. I know something about what I am talking about.

Thanks for the suggestions so far.
Rather than a banner waving protest, we are currently thinking about a visual publicity stunt imvolving "props" that will be short and to the point.
We have a few ideas in mind but would like your thoughts on visual stunts and appropiate venues. |

Rather than protesting against high prices per se perhaps it would be apt to focus our efforts demonstrating why the housing boom had had such a devestating impact upon the economy. At the moment our it seems the 'global credit crunch' is being made the scapegoat and Darling, Brown and Co shouldn't be allowed to get away with spinning this line. If we had an economy such as Japan's or Germany's that produce goods which are sold largely in the US market then the global credit crunch would be a suitable justification but this is not the case.

If we had an economy such as Japan's we'd already have had a spectacular crash in real estate prices. ;)
If you can find a way to promote a slogan - given the current media focus... "DEBT IS REAL" would be a good line to push.
